Walking – Walking – Walking Down the River!

Flooded River
Me and Mama

So, today, Mama and I, on our morning walk, headed down to the Illinois River.  It had been flooding a lot lately, but has been going down a lot in the last few days.

Flooded Power Station
in front of power station

Here we are in front of the power station – which got flooded too, hence the water they are pumping out.

Flooded street
– Flooded Water Street

Name of this street is Water Street – and as you can tell, if you look closely, there is still water flooding the street a little bit behind us.  Also, don’t know if you can see it, but there is a fence on the bridge behind us.  A prominent attorney jumped to his death from that bridge to the street below about a decade ago.  Sad.  Very sad.

– more river pics

Another Picture of me by the river.  You might can see that the river has flooded the trees and the field behind the trees on the far side.

– barges behind me

And another picture.  See the barges behind me?  They aren’t moving now, cause the river is flooding.  One barge captain told Catman a few years ago that the crew carries around baseball bats, cause the rats on the grain barges get HUGE!  They should just hire Angus Fala Worldwide – Pest Control Services.

Red Door
– At the Red Door

This was like Mama’s favorite Restaurant.  It was the Red Door Inn, and it was THE place to go in the 70’s and 80’s.  Unfortunately, it’s been closed now for about a decade.  Too many floods from the river, I suppose.  See to the far right of the picture, can you see the thing protruding out of the roof? That’s a Railroad caboose.  The restaurant was actually built around it.  You could eat in the boxcar.  Neat.

Red Door Table Cloths
– They closed quick

Though it’s been closed for about 10 years, the tables are still set, with table cloths on them in the Red Door.  Looks like it just closed last night, and will be open later.  Unfortunately, it won’t ever open again.  Sad again.

That’s it for my tour.  Thanks for joining me on my walk today!

While the Scottie’s away, The Bunnies will Play

2015JuneAinsleyAuntJudyLast Night, I traveled to the Aunt Judy Inn – And got to dine on some most excellent chicken.

But, while I was away, my staff took the following pictures of my backyard sentry area….

3 Bunnies in my yard while I was gone!  Obviously, there to pay respects to their loved ones at the  Bunny Memorial National Cemetery.  But still!  The Nerve of them to be visiting while the Cemetery is closed!

Very Disappointed in President Obama

So President Obama came to Angus Fala Worldwide Enterprises Thursday – and gave a speech.  Per their Standard Operating Procedure, they have representatives of  the common man (My Hooman Granddad) interspersed with us movers and shakers of society (that would be me, CEO of Angus Fala Worldwide Enterprises) sit behind the President as he speaks.  It looks good on TV that way, you understand.

I gotta say, the President, when you see him up close, is a lot smaller man in person than you realize from just watching the media coverage.  I guess that’s that ol’ liberal bias of the main stream media.

2015JuneAinsleyOBamaAnyway, to be truthful, I thought he was gonna talk about the most pressing issue of our time – the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse.  But instead he was just braggin and crowing about Obamacare and today’s Supreme Court Decision.  So I just kinda zoned him out and looked the other way.

Mobile Patrol Tactics – Advanced

To the simple hooman, this is just a Scottie who sees a Husky. But to the advanced Scottie who has attended and successfully completed my “Ainsley ‘ s 7 Habits of Successful Scottie Mobile Patrolling” seminar, you will note the one paw dashboard balance, which is certainly something you shouldn’t try at home until you have years of experience, like I, going every day, 365 days a year for 5 years, to McDonalds.

Also, note the intense focused expression.  The successful mobile patrolling scottie knows you need to be concentrating at all times.

And for advance credit, to what looks like simple scottie nose art on the window to my right, the accomplished patroller  will notice it isn’t simple at all. It’s advance drawings and diagrams of the order of the day and recon maps, along with of course, copious amounts of Scottie nose drippings.

See you out there on the roads.

Infrastructure Improvements to Serve You Better!

Last night was eventful, here at Angus Manor (Under New Management) and vicinity.  The town of Mendota, about 15 miles up the road, and where Angus and the hoomans lived til 2008, had a tornado pass right threw it.  A lot of people had damage – and about 5 hoomans were injured.  Here is a picture of the tornado taken last night by a staffer of Angus Fala Worldwide (not Catman or Mama) over Mendota…

Anyway, enough about other people – let’s talk about me.  We had little rain here last night, only .3 inches, you will be happy to hear, at Angus Manor (Under New Management).  But all the recent rain had me thinking about our infrastructure here at Angus Manor. The staff did some checking, and our backup sump pump has failed sometime in the past 5 years, and the main sump pump, our primary, has about 5 years of service, and I estimate, a half million cycles, at least.  So I have scheduled work tomorrow…and we will be replacing our existing sump pumps with two brand new ones, a Zoeller pedestal stand sump pump 1/3 HP, and a primary submersible Zoeller sump pump 1/2 HP.  Here I am surveying the infrastructure that is about to be replaced…and happy to report, no frogs in the sump pump today – unlike last week, when we had to pull 4 out of the sump.

2015June Ainsley Sump PumpWe’ll add the still functional sump pump to our backup shelf…it will join its brethren, the one replaced back in 2010, and a new spare one that I had purchased this year.  Also, we have 3 utility pumps, and assorted hardware as well.  Because as page 73 says, in Angus Fala’s Little Red Book, “A Dry Basement Makes a Happy Hooman Staffer.”  So I want to be prepared.

So I hope you enjoyed the tour of the inner workings of Angus Fala Worldwide – a part of the tour that our regular guests do not get to see.  In appreciation of the special tour, I would appreciate a handsome gratuity.  Not required of course – but expected.

Video Day

After the momentous and important (and correct) decision by me, Ainsley McKenna, CEO of Angus Fala Worldwide Enterprises last week to pull my late great brother (and Angus Fala Worldwide Founder) Angus’s Facebook account, I’ve had loyal patrons of Angus Fala Worldwide request specific videos.  So here below, I am going to post some of those that were requested yesterday – since they might be harder to find, since Angus’s Facebook site is gone.

First off, the first one ever.  Recorded back in 2006, when Angus was only 5, and put on Youtube before Youtube became such a sensation.  I present “Angus and the Uh Oh” – because it was posted so early on Facebook, and before most Scottie videos were ever filmed, it has the most views of any of his videos…it has at last count, like 53,000 views.

Next, is a video that is a personal favorite of Mama – you get the full craziness that is Angus.  It is Angus versus the Statue of the Horse (and Catman wants to add for the record it was recorded BEFORE it became illegal in Illinois to use a Cellphone while driving – plus, he was actually using a camera that day, not a Cellphone, so TAKE THAT Illinois State Police Trooper who pulled us over last week!).  Incidentally, I hate the statue as well, though I don’t grab seat belts and give them the Scottie death shake like Angus did.  (when we traded that van in, there were questions about all the tooth holes in the shoulder harness of all the seat belts…and many an unsuspecting rider was surprised when we rode by the horse, and all of a sudden their shoulder harness was YANKED backwards as Angus grabbed it)

Next, a video that someone requested yesterday….Angus on July 4th of 2014 (and a video in which I, like Alfred Hitchcock, makes a rare YouTube appearance).

Finally, a couple of more videos requested yesterday…

from 2008, Angus vs the Water Hose

and from early 2010 Angus Vs. the Goofy Dance (I was born by then, and living at our breeder in Wisconsin still, but Angus didn’t know me when this video was filmed)

That’s your film presentation for today.  Someone remarked yesterday about Angus’s sense of Humor…actually, Angus had zero sense of humor and zero whimsy and foolishness.  He was all Scottie Business All the time.  And if you think about it, that is the common theme of all these films…and I think why some of you liked them so.  You see your own Scottie in Angus’s behaviors.

Anyway, that’s what I think anyway.

P.S. – one more, my personal favorite…

Oh, and someone requested the Battery Operated Ball one.  I forget this one…

The Decision

Happy Times at Monticello in Charlottesville Virginia October 2013 (Thomas Jefferson’s house) – Mama, me, Hooman sis (who interned there), and me. Angus thoroughly enjoyed the trip, but flummoxed the tour guide when he asked to see Thomas Jefferson’s basement sump pump. (you’d think they would be trained to field such a common request, wouldn’t you????)

Last week we made a momentous decision at Angus Fala Worldwide Enterprises.  We deactivated the Facebook Account of my late brother Angus’s, the founder of Angus Fala Worldwide Enterprises.

The vote was 1 aye (me), 0 nays, and 1 abstaining (Mr. Bear).  Mr Bear made the media rounds today, explaining the decision.   Here he is at a local radio station, WALLS 102, on the Doghouse Morning Show (no joking, that’s the name of the show) this morning.

2015 June Mr Bear Interview
Mr. Bear being interviewed by Sweet V on WALLS 102, June 17, 2015

Some of you are asking why.  Simple – we wanted to make the decision ourselves, on the time and date of our own choosing – and not some unexpected day when Lord Zuckerberg and his minions decide to pull Angus’s account.  And we just thought it was time to let his Facebook go.  Our team of I.T. specialists at Angus Fala Worldwide noted a decline in account views, so we figured last week was right.

So what happened to all the pictures?  Don’t fret, loyal patron of Angus Fala Worldwide Enterprises.  All the pictures have been backed up, and safely stored deep underground in the Temperature controlled, Zombie Repellent Vault on a server physically protected by a team of devil balls, and internet protected by the latest security protections as designed by the finest technological brains that Target Corporation, Sony Pictures, and the U.S. Government have to offer.  (hmmmm…on second thought, maybe I should unplug the ethernet cord going to the server)

I hope that you will understand and respect the decision of me and the board.  And thank you for your local patronage of Angus Fala Worldwide Enterprises.

Yours Truly,
